The kind of media institution that would distribute my magazine would be an independent institution as that drum and bass isn't that big a genre and drum and bass magazine are even less popular so there would not be a lot of money involved in distributing this magazine for a big corporate media distributor.
The target audience for my media product is made up of mainly men but women as well, aged 16 to 35. They listen to other variants of drum and bass on mp3 players and ipods but they like listening to music live at clubs and raves because of the atmosphere and excitement. My target audience wears brands like quiksilver, element, etnies and animal. To create there image, because it is comfortable and looks good. They are in to technology like apple, ipods, computers and expensive headphones to listen to there music on. In there free time they socialise with there friends outside or at each others friends house. They like sports but do not participate in many. The sports that they like are not real mainstream sports, they include skate boarding, bmxing and ice hockey. They go on holidays to places in the UK, or to Ibiza to go to clubs and listen to the main big shot Dj’s.
I addressed my audience by the simple straight to the point layout of my front cover. The front cover only has on it what my target audience want to see on it, which are artists and bands name and a free cd. In relation to my double page spread I addressed my audience by only including what they would most want to see in this genre of music magazine which an interview with the band and I made the questions so that the reader can find out facts about the bands and get to know them more as all my target audience want to do is be very knowledgeable about there favourite bands and artists I also included an album release in the double page spread which I think a has reinforced the my point that I addressed the target audience.
