Evaluation Conventions and representations

My media product uses conventions of real media products in the way that I have a very simple layout of my front cover like real life drum and bass magazines: in the way that there is just one main picture as the background, a logo, couple of strap lines and one main feature on the front cover. All of these components on my front cover follow the conventions of magazines that I have researched. My contents page challenges real life contents page in that I have laid it out how most contents pages are but, I have put everything on an angle so it looks like it is on two walls which I think pushes the conventions of the media product. I think my double page spread fits with the conventions of real media products and doesn’t do anything to challenge the conventions which I am happy with.

My media project represents the target audience group that reads my genre of magazine by fitting with the codes and conventions of the drum and bass genre. It also represents them by only featuring what I learnt from my target audience researches, which are things like things about technology and the artists.
